Roof paint can revive the look of any building and extend the life of the roof by an extra 15 years. The factory-applied coating on new roof tiles eventually wears off. To protect the roof, here are a few tips to look for:
- Roof painting must be done correctly
- Look for high-quality products
- Find paint with high UV stability
- Choose high-end colour pigments
- Select roof paint with sun and weather exposure
- Clean and ensure the roof is completely dry before painting, otherwise the paint will peel
- Use biocide to kill off any algae or moss spores
- Follow application guidelines
- Use two coats of good quality paints
