Alpolic® is an aluminium composite cladding material that can be shaped to suit the form of almost any building and finished in almost any colour. The cladding panels are versatile and highly durable, backed by guarantees of up to 20 years.
As a composite material made of aluminium and plastic, Alpolic combines light weight and rigidity in panels of consistent flatness and with a consistent quality coating. It also provides a measure of thermal insulation, contributing to energy saving in buildings, and the panels are fully recyclable.
Alpolic/fr, offering a higher level of fire resistance, is composed of a non-combustible mineral core and a small amount of low-density polyethylene sandwiched between two skins of 0.5mm thick aluminium.
Standard panels are made in thicknesses of 3.4 and 6.0mm, widths of 965, 1 270mm, and 1 575mm, and lengths up to 7 200mm. There are more than 80 standard colours to choose from, including solid, metallic, sparkling and prismatic colours as well as Alpolic’s Abstract range and the NaturArt series which offers stone, timber and metal colours. Custom colours can also be matched.
The fluorocarbon-based paint used on the top side of Alpolic is recognised for its high performance in outdoor applications and in all panels is covered with a protective film. The back surface of the panels is typically finished with a thin polyester service coating.
Alpolic is a member of the USA’s LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) which established the LEED Green Building rating system – rating high-performance sustainable buildings.
Alpolic is manufactured by Mitsubishi Plastics in Japan and is distributed locally by AfriClad.
