Well-known Cape property developer, Garden Cities, has expanded its Pinehurst, Durbanville and Sunningdale, West Coast developments significantly with the construction of several new residential villages at the two estates. In line with the company’s commitment to build quality homes with quality fittings, Cobra Watertech’s Dura range of taps and mixers were specified for the bathrooms and kitchens in all the new homes.
The Dura range suits the villages, which offer homeowners attractive, affordable homes with high-end features. With its strong angular lines, clean styling and minimalist simplicity influenced by the latest international trends, the Dura range met the design requirements perfectly.
Regarded as one of Cobra’s cutting-edge ranges, the Dura basin and sink mixers incorporate innovative oblong aerators. To ensure durability, the mixers are manufactured from robust dezincification resistant (DZR) brass and are coated in top quality chrome, providing a stylish, contemporary finish.
To date, more than 100 homes have been fitted with the Dura products and have been handed over to the new homeowners. When completed, Pinehurst will provide a total of 7000 homes and Sunningdale another 5 000 as part of its first phase. There are thousands more homes earmarked for future Dura installations.
The new villages were constructed by Garden Cities’ dedicated building operation, Pineland Development Company (PDC), which has a long relationship with Cobra stretching over the past 20 years. This relationship has been built on Cobra’s standing as the local market leader as well as its excellent product and spares availability and solid backup service.
Mark Waters, PDC senior projects manager, says, “Over the years we’ve consistently used Cobra because we’ve never had any problems with the products and the after-sales service has always been very good and reliable.”
Garden Cities has been responsible for developing numerous successful community building projects over the past 90 years. Through PDC, it is currently building around 30 homes a month and has an order book for the next 10 years with a construction value of some R700 million. As in the past, Cobra products have been specified for many of these developments.
