Apex Strip Curtains warehouse installationAt warehouses, workshops and manufacturing facilities – how do you keep the premises cool enough to favour productivity when doors have to be left open to allow traffic of goods and people?

One of the simplest solutions is to control air movement by installing strip curtains. They prevent the hot air from coming in and building up internally and, in winter, they work as effectively to prevent the inflow of cold air.

Designed and developed by Apex Strip Curtains www.apexstrip.co.za, the product has been used in South Africa for over 26 years – helping to maintain comfortable temperatures in diverse working environments.

Wim Dessing, managing director of Apex Strip Curtains, says that Apex general purpose strip curtaining was the first to be manufactured in the country. “In fact, curtains that we installed when the company was established in 1984 are still in use today.”

Apex strip curtains are manufactured from specially formulated PVC material that does not become brittle over the years. They cover doors and other openings effectively to prevent the inflow of outside air as people or goods enter or exit a building. The strips are transparent so visibility is maintained and approaching traffic is not obscured.

The patented Balledge® design of Apex strip curtains forms an efficient thermal seal while still allowing individual strips to part easily under pressure, so that people and goods can move through unhindered. At the same time, it prevents any air ingress into the workplace. This feature also strengthens the strips, enhancing the life of the curtain, even in aggressive environments.

“For big or small work areas, Apex strip curtains promote effective cooling in summer and heating in winter, to create a comfortable working environment that boosts productivity,” says Dessing.
