Kariba Safari Lodge's White Cement Veneers

Kariba Safari Lodge is situated on a mountainside in Kariba Zimbabwe. The Lodges and Suites are distributed over 33 acres of forested hillside, sloping down to the lake shore and beach area. The sandy beach inspired the flooring and wall veneers of the open-fronted, en-suite lodges which offer broad views of the lake from the bed.

White cement is a hydraulic binder with the same physical characteristics to Portland Grey Cement. It is known for its pure white colour. White cement is made from raw materials containing little to no iron or manganese which is what gives grey cement its colour. It is much finer than grey cement and has higher reflective properties.

The white cement look complements the lodge’s natural surroundings and venue facilities, like the open-plan dining room, lounge with outdoor patio and bar, the swimming pool, conference and wedding venue.
