Q: How do I maintain my Cemcrete floor?

A: Cemcrete launched the CreteCare Range, an easy to use floor maintenance system. CreteCare Floor Polish is an easy to apply, high gloss, hardwearing, protective polish which delivers excellent black heel mark, slip and wear resistance. Polishing your floor is optional, but in doing so, the polish acts as an additional protective layer essentially protecting the sealer beneath it. Polishing does not have to happen regularly  once every 3 to 6, or even 12 months depending on the amount of traffic and your personal preference – and after a couple of applications it is recommended to strip the layers of polish off before applying again in order to eliminate a build-up of material on your floor. (see CreteCare Floor Polish Stripper below) Cemcrete’s CreteCare Polish is also very useful where minor cracks have appeared on, for example your covered patio. Use CreteCare Polish to fill the hairline cracks and prevent moisture from seeping into the floor. Then continue to maintain as usual. CreteCare Floor Polish Stripper provides an easy to use, effective, fast working stripper for polish and some sealers on your surface. It used to prepare the floor before the application of a fresh coat of CreteCare Floor Polish to rejuvenate an old tired floor. CreteCare Mop and Shine is an easy to use self-shining cleaner that has a natural detergent that does not damage the floor. It is also water-resistant and delivers effective day-to-day cleaning for your Cemcrete surfaces.

Q: Are Cement floors cold?

A: When it comes to insulation, cement actually has some extremely valuable properties which can aid and assist temperature regulation indoors. Cement has an extremely high thermal mass, which means that it can easily store temperature. It is therefore good at absorbing and retaining heat during the day, and radiating it out at night when temperatures fall.
