Rehau’s Tritec uPVC window and door systems are designed for efficient thermal performance, minimising transfer of heat and cold through the frames. Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) is a versatile material that is used in wide-ranging applications in the construction, transport, electronics and health industries, among others. According to Rehau, PVC is manufactured by combining salt and oil derivatives to make the plastic material. The ‘u’ prefix indicates unplasticised PVC, which is more durable and suitable for use in construction.

The multi-chambered design of Rehau’s uPVC window and door profiles makes these fittings very poor conductors of heat and cold. The window and door systems can accommodate single glazing up to 32mm double glazing. The single-leg design provides for safe and fuss-free glazing. The glazing depth is at least 20mm and the glazing bead design allows for fast and simple re-glazing.
