TAL is a manufacturer of innovative tile installation materials to the South African market. The TAL laboratory is the first in Africa to gain ISO 17025 accreditation for 1348:2007 testing (tensile strength of cementitious tile adhesives). Whilst similar to the ISO 9001 standard, ISO 17025 also speaks to technical competence.

TAL is extremely proud to have been part of the newest public art installation in Johannesburg – the Ndzundza/ Nzunza portrait. Artist Hannelie Coetzee has created a 10m high mosaic on the western façade of the Nzunza House (formerly North City House) which City Property have gifted to the city. The TAL technical team supplied a bespoke product and specification for this prestigious project.

The performance of the environmentally friendly, dustless tile adhesives launched by Chryso South Africa last year has surprised even seasoned building industry contractors.  The adhesives were used recently, for example, for extensive internal and external tiling in one of the new homes at the Waterfall Country and Equestrian Estate in Sunninghill, Sandton. At this prestigious 200ha estate, being developed by Century Property Developments, there is a strong emphasis on environmental responsibility. There are reportedly more than 2 000 indigenous trees on the site.
