Chryso SA has supplied essential admixtures and pigmentation products for the concrete used in the construction of the new Umhlanga stormwater pier on the KwaZulu-Natal north coast. The company’s KZN regional manager, Vishnu Beeput, says Chryso supplied Optima 207 and Lanxess iron oxide pigmentation for the project. The super-plasticiser, Chrysofluid Optima 207, was included in the concrete mix to provide workability, high-strength and durability. The Lanxess iron oxide pigmentation formed part of Lafarge’s Artevia decorative concrete used to colour the Umhlanga pier’s paving.
