Winners were announced in three categories - SAICE National Projects, SAICE Technical Divisions Projects and SAICE Institutional Awards - at the prestigious SAICE Awards gala event. The event, celebrating the Most Outstanding Civil Engineering Achievements for 2012/2013 was held at Emperors Palace in Gauteng on 17 October. This year SAICE received 35 project entries from across the country – a new record in SAICE history.

The South African Institution of Civil Engineering (SAICE) is appalled at the current levels of pollution in the following three water sources: the Grootbrak River, in Evander/Embalenhle, the Waterval River, in Leandra/Lebogang, and the Blesbokspruit in Bethal/Emzinoni.
