In the food manufacturing industry hygiene controls are critical and for Concrete Laser Flooring (CLF), the contractor supplying the flooring to renovations at the FlavourCraft factory, Sika’s PurCem system of hygienically robust products was the first choice.  FlavourCraft, in New Germany, Durban, is a manufacturer of powdered food flavourings. The renovation of the factory’s food processing area called for a hygienic environment, able to withstand constant cleaning with hot water and a heavy flow of traffic.

Mapei South Africa brings the latest Italian flooring technology to the South African market with Mapefloor polyurethane-cement self-levelling systems. These are ideal for application on industrial floors, offering high resistance to chemicals and high temperatures as well as providing strength and durability.  The Mapefloor CPU/MF system is a three-component, self-levelling polyurethane-cement formulation designed as a protective coating for industrial floors made of concrete and cement terrazzo. It is available in colours of grey, beige, red and green.  Garth Meyer, product manager - flooring at Mapei South Africa, says, “Mapefloor CPU/MF creates a three to four millimetre thick layer that is exceptionally resistant to abrasion when applied following suitable preparation and priming of the substrate.”
