Decorex Cape Town takes place from 26 to 29 April at the Cape Town International Convention Centre and bookings are now open for ‘Conversations on Architecture’ which will be hosted at the event.  Under the banner of ‘Architectural expression in the 4G Phase: Exuberant – Experimental – Explicit’, the conversations will explore contemporary issues in the built environment, locally and globally.  Sara Shafiei and Ben Cowd of the Saraben Studio in Leicester, UK, will explore the theme of Craft and Exuberance, highlighting key work emerging from a young generation of digitally enabled designers and researchers.

The brief for this year’s PG Bison 1.618 Student Competition was conceived by Callie van der Merwe, founder partner of The Design Partnership, in collaboration with Nkhensani Nkosi of Stoned Cherrie. The competition is open to all full-time students of interior design, architecture, interior architecture and industrial design. Nkhensani Nkosi has been asked to come up with new designs for her Love Movement fashion range of Afro chic products, currently housed within 50 Foschini stores nationwide. Foschini has purchased an existing building in Woodstock, Cape Town, to house the design studio and workshop for the Stoned Cherrie - Love Movement range, and to provide display and retail space for the new designs.
