The RHI-NODE range of access chambers comprises three complete, non-metal manhole products, including the following:
RHI-NODE 1000, which is 1,000mm deep with 650mm daylight opening and total weight of 95kg. Load rating: EN-124 B125 (ie 125kN).
RHI-Node 600, which is 600mm deep with 350mm daylight opening and total weight of 46kg. Load rating: SANS 558 medium duty (ie 40kN).
RHI-NODE 300, which is 300mm deep with 200mm daylight opening and total weight of 5kg. Load rating: SANS 558 light duty (ie 7kN).
The RHI-NODE range of access chambers consists of a manhole lid, frame, coping, chamber panels and chamber bottom. The lid and coping accommodates either a secure mechanical lock or the standard GLAM Lock, fully integrated. All RHI-NODE products are produced in the only facility of its kind in Africa, under strict quality assurance (ISO 9000 certified).
The main components of each RH-NODE product are manufactured from SMC (sheet moulded compound), which is part of the GRP (glass reinforced polymers) family of materials. It is a light weight, high strength replacement for metal components, which is non-flammable, UV stabilised, impact resistant and shatter proof.

The RHI-NODE products are light weight and flat-packed. Accordingly, prior to and during installation, key features include:

Q: How easy is it to install? A: The RHI-NODE chambers are delivered in a flat pack configuration and are off-loaded and assembled on site without involvement of heavy lifting equipment.
Q: What is the cost of transportation? A: Due to the flat pack configuration in which the RHI-NODE chambers are supplied to the customer, truck loads can be optimised. Where traditional fibre cement chambers are transported in loads of ±70 per super link truck, with the same size RHI-NODE chamber the load is optimised to 144 chambers per load which reduces transport cost by more than 50%.
Q: Can the chambers be locked? A: Yes, we integrate two types of locks in the chambers. It can either be fitted with an electronic GLAM lock linked to the GLAM Access Management System or with a mechanical lock.
