The Rubi brand of manual and electric tile cutters, and ancillary tooling and accessories, has been re-introduced to the southern African market by construction equipment supplier, Mayday Equipment. Known for sourcing high quality product that meets industry needs, Mayday Equipment has been appointed as the official distributor for the Rubi range of tile cutting systems and accessories. Managing director, Nina Mason, says that products range from tiling spacers to applicators to cutters of every shape possible.

 TAL, a leading supplier of tile adhesives, has added a new mushroom colour to its Wall & Floor grout range.  The new colour complements the existing range of lighter-coloured grouts which include super white, white, beige, calico cream, ivory, light grey, and dove grey colours. The mushroom colour has been developed to suit tiles with a neutral tone.

Tile Africa Contracts has supplied tiles for the interior and exterior as well as bathroom ware and accessories for the extension to the Birchwood Hotel & OR Tambo Conference Centre in Boksburg, Gauteng. The project entailed the expansion of the hotel adding 215 new rooms. Tile Africa Contracts supplied about 2 500 sheets of rustic porcelain mosaics as well as Manchester baths, Sydney wall-hung and Gallery toilets, and Demola bathroom accessories, including three-litre stainless steel dustbins for the bathrooms.
