Roadside retaining walls

Retaining walls often form part of the works required in the construction of highway interchanges and versatile Terraforce concrete retaining blocks are proving popular for such applications. In Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, Terraforce blocks supplied by Terraforce licensee, Consent LLC, were used in two interchange projects recently completed: the Mirdif interchange and the Jebel Ali interchange. As Holger Rust, founder of Terraforce in Cape Town, points out, traffic interchanges are structures that use grade separation with ramps to facilitate rapid flow of traffic. They often have to be fitted into a tight space and creative engineering is required to design cost-effective retaining structures that can be built fast and provide a safe and long-lasting solution.
