The Health Safety and Environment (HSE) support service of the Gauteng Master Builders Association (GMBA) provides extended assistance to GMBA members to support the thorough implementation of HSE programmes – for the benefit of the companies and their employees. Doug Michell, GMBA HSE specialist, says an HSE programme can only be successful and provide benefits if total implementation is achieved.

Initiated to address the serious shortage of HSE personnel, the eight-month training scheme kicked off in February 2009 with an intake of 21 students.

SAQA certification for GMBA safety graduates

The Gauteng Master Builders Association’s (GMBA’s) 2010 intake of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) cadets will be the first to qualify with the SAQA-registered (South African Qualifications Authority) National Certificate: Construction Health and Safety NQF Level 3, which was registered in March 2010. The students will graduated last month, February 2011.
