Solar Photovoltaic (PV)

Renu supplies a range of solar photovoltaic (solar pv) systems for both commercial and residential applications. Our PV systems can either stand-alone (not to be tied to the grid), be connected to the grid (grid tie) or can be a hybrid of both. The system consists of an arrangement of solar panels which absorb and convert sunlight into electricity, a solar inverter to change the electrical current from DC to AC, as well as mounting, cabling and other electrical accessories to set up a working system.

Renu is able to work around any site challenges or utilise existing infrastructure to produce the quantity of power required for specific use. We determine the right system based on the attributes of the site and our expertise ensures that the right combination of products is designed into the solution so that our client’s expectations are met.

  • Off-Grid system: For a home or business that does not have a grid connection (usually far from grid connection points).
  • Grid-Tied system: A grid-tied system can reduce your carbon footprint and electricity bill by providing part of the electricity consumed from the PV system.
  • Hybrid system: A grid-tied system with battery back-up has the same advantages as a grid-tied system. In addition, such a system allows you to use solar energy in the evenings and on cloudy days, as well as during load shedding.
  • Solar energy is not only sustainable, it is renewable and this means that we will never run out of it.
  • The creation of solar energy requires little maintenance. Once the solar panels have been installed and are working at maximum efficiency, there is only a small amount of maintenance required each year to ensure they are in working order.
  • No downtime as there is little dependency on the grid.
  • Reduced costs as you mitigate your risk of tariff increases.
  • Remote areas don’t need to rely on grid supply and can product their own power.
  • Surplus energy can be sold back to the utility system.
  • A silent producer of energy with no noise made from photovoltaic panels when they convert sunlight into usable electicity.
  • Solar power not only provides a sustainable energy source it also reduces electrical costs by using free sun energy.

Q: Which PV system should I use if I want to be unaffected by load shedding?

A: A Hybrid system that combines a grid-tied system with battery back-up.
Q: What should I use if I don’t have an electricity supply and require an alternative source of energy?
A: Renu’s Off-Grid systems are designed for homes or businesses that don’t have a grid connection.

Project: Solar PV installation at Kuilsriver County Ford Dealership

“We wanted a single point of contact that would handle the consulting, design, supply, installation and maintenance. Renu’s track record and expertise in all of these areas was a good fit for what we needed.”
