Property Expert Francois Viruly forecasts South African Property Industry Trends


Francois Viruly, a leading property economist, will provide the built environment professionals at the Green Building Conference 2011 with an indication of what the South African property industry trends will be for the next 18 months.

Viruly, who has over twenty years of experience in the analysis of the South African property market, was previously the Chief Economist at the Chamber of Mines and the Head of Research at JHI Professional Services. He established Viruly Consulting, a Real Estate Consulting company that focuses on the analysis of the South African and African Property Market, and lectures in Urban Economics, Property Development and Portfolio Management at UCT. Viruly has undertaken extensive research into the South African property cycle, the development of township commercial properties, and the application of Institutional Economics to the analysis of property markets in emerging countries.
