Trellidor has installed its Trellidor Trojan 3 EMESC T3000 steel security gates in four London Underground train stations. “We designed this particular model to their specifications and then submitted the gate to an internationally recognised testing body for rating. It surpassed expectations and as a result, we were eligible for this contract,” said Trellidor Marketing and Sales Director Peter Rawson.
It is hoped that the company will land the remaining eight installations in this particular upgrade program. “There are very few manufacturers worldwide that have products certified to the required level of strength in the necessary configurations and crucially, with an emergency escape lock like the one we’ve developed.”
All four units, weighing 50kg/m², are already installed in London Underground stations. They were manufactured in Durban at the Trellidor factory, airfreighted to the United Kingdom and installed by the Trellidor UK franchise.
“We are exploring other markets for the Trellidor Trojan 3 EMESC T3000. It is has been developed for locations where there are large volumes of people moving through, such as ports, sports stadiums and the rail networks throughout Europe.”
This particular safety gate far exceeds the standards required by homes and commercial buildings in South Africa but is an indication that Trellidor sets the standard in the barrier security industry. Products designed for home or office use are subjected to similarly rigorous standards, ensuring that end users are provided with the best value for their money, not the minimum requirement to deter intruders.
The company also caters to trends in the housing market, such as the move towards secure housing estates, by developing products that suit this increasingly popular lifestyle. These products include Trellidor Clear Guard see-through security screens, Trellidor Polycarbonate Bar (which keeps out monkeys), Trellidor Security Shutter aluminium louvres, and Trellidor Rollerstyle automated shutters for safe zones.
