Johnson Tiles launches a new glazed porcelain range

Local tile manufacturer, Johnson Tiles has recently launched the Portico range to complement its existing tile offering. This glazed porcelain range is exclusive to retailer Tile Africa, and is suitable for application on walls and floors.

The Portico range is slip-resistant and boasts a water-mark cement design. It is available in a 400 x 400 size and the range has three colour-ways ranging from a modern grey-yellow, a neutral tone and a dark tan.

“Porcelain tiles in neutral palettes and greys remain popular with interior designers and architects and are a fashionable flooring choice for upmarket living spaces,” says Richard Nuss, marketing manager at Johnson Tiles.

Glazed porcelain tiles from Johnson Tiles are manufactured to high quality standards that comply with, or exceed, European standards (EN:177).
The main beneficial characteristics of a porcelain tile, be it glazed or unglazed are:

  • The body is less porous, which makes it perfect for bathrooms, patios and kitchens where water is a consideration.
  • Porcelain tiles are more dense and high in strength, making them suitable for high traffic areas.
  • Due to the fact that porcelain tiles are pressed harder and fired at a higher temperature than glazed ceramic tiles, they present obvious benefits over glazed ceramic tiles. They are frost, UV, fade and stain-resistant and are very hard-wearing, making them perfect choice for the commercial market.
