ASPASA – Aggregate & Sand Producers Association Of South Africa
ASPASA – Aggregate & Sand Producers Association Of South Africa The Aggregate and Sand Producers Association of Southern Africa (ASPASA) is a voluntary membership, private sector producers association. ASPASA is a member of the Chamber of Mines, but represents those companies that are in the business of producing aggregate and sand by operating quarries, sand pits and crushing operations. A wide range of services is supported through working committees which render services and advice to members as individual companies do not always have the resources and manpower to deal with these on a day-to-day basis. See our website for member details - http://www.aspasa.co.za. ASPASA is run by an executive council and managed by a management committee that directs, supports and guides the ASPASA director, who is a full-time employee. ASPASA advises members and others on Health & Safety and Environmental issues. ASPASA has two audit programmes that it does for its members, which are: - About Face RSA Audit (Environmental); and - Initiating Safety Health Education (ISHE). ASPASA also deals with Technical, Human Resources, Transport and Legal matters. ASPASA ensures that all illegal mining reported to them, is reported to the authorities.
