The downloads on this page are for the SPECXpert 2006/7Building Industry Reference Source CD-ROM program. Please take the time to read the download instructions!

Download Instructions:                 
1) Before downloading an update, create a download directory on your computer. Give the directory a descriptive name like ‘My Downloads’. If you do not want to create another directory on your computer you could simply use the ‘My Documents’ folder.
2) To start downloading click on one of the links at the end of this page. When prompted, select ‘Save this program to disk’ and click OK. Now select the ‘My Downloads’ or ‘My Documents’ directory on your computer and save the file.
3) When the file download completes either click on the ‘Open’ button or close the download window and run the file from the ‘My Downloads’ or ‘My Documents’ directory by double clicking on it.
If you experience any problems downloading these updates please contact Specifile  for assistance !

Company Updates

Infraset - August 4 2006

Has updated their page on hollow blocks, embankment seating and retaining wall systems. Their full face concrete hollow blocks are suitable for low cost construction and are manufactured to SABS 1215-1984. Lintel and half blocks are also available. The Infraset embankment seating is machine-made to fit various embankment slopes and is an economical way to provide durable yet comfortable seating. The flexible TerraceBlok and Loffelstein retaining systems range in height from 1 to 12 metres. There are also specially designed systems available for all types of soil retention problems in cut and fill operations. The walls are ideal for planting.

ITC-SA (Institute for Timber Construction) - August 4 2006      

The primary aim of the Institute for Timber Construction South Africa is to regulate the design, manufacturing and erecting of pre-fabricated nail plated timber trusses in structural applications. The ITC-SA works very closely with the SABS, SATAS, ECSA and the three systems - MiTek, Alpine and International Truss Systems - that provide the engineering software for designing timber roof structures.

Infraset - December 1 2006

Two updated brochures from Infraset - one on Loffelstein retaining systems, a dry stacking, interlocking retaining system ideal for retaining cut or fill slopes between 3 and 15 metres in height. The other is on IRB18 Rock Face - a retaining block system that allows for the creation of convex or concave curves. Please also note that Ridgeway pavers and Cape Cobble are being removed as these two products are discontinued.

Infraset - May 4 2007
