For many years South Africans have trusted TAL tiling adhesives. Now the company has introduced a new product with a multitude of applications.
TAL Gold Star Sealmaster 1000 is a flexible polyurethane-based adhesive and joint sealant which forms a permanently flexible, highly elastic and durable joint. The product adheres to most materials and can withstand continuous extension and recovery.
Hamish McKee, general manager of TAL, comments: “We have led the market in development for many years and have a long history of success. The construction industry is very diverse and we are developing new products to grow our representation in the industry. “Flexibility is the key of the new TAL Gold Star Sealmaster. “The expansion and contraction of joints is a common problem and this is where this product works best,” says McKee. It is applicable in heavy and light precast panel expansion joints, wood, aluminium and PVC joinery seams, and expansion joints in traditional construction.
TAL Gold Star Sealmaster shows excellent adhesion, without primer, to a host of materials, including steel, PVC, zinc, fibre cement, aluminium, marble, clay, concrete, brick, stone, glass, ceramic tiles, wood, most lacquered metals and polyester.
It is suitable for interior and exterior applications as it is fast curing and offers high resistance to abrasion, is UV-stable, and is resistant to shock, vibration and temperature changes when cured. It is also resistant to moisture, chemicals and corrosion and is recommended for bonding baked clay and concrete roof tiles.
The product’s water resistant qualities make it ideal for sealing around windows, window sills, and ceramic tile panel movement joints, or as a joint-filler in walls and around showers, basins and sinks.
With a sound track record of over 35 years in the industry TAL is a market leader in its field. “We are a key supplier to major tiling installations around the country and our products are readily accepted by architects, specifiers and contractors,” says McKee.
