Tile Africa Contracts, a tile supplier and contractor and part of Tile Africa, recently supplied tiles for the upmarket refurbishment of the Orion Safari Lodge in Rustenburg.
The project involved the design and floor layouts for the hotel's conference areas, entrance lobby, public bathrooms and outside patios. Tile Africa Contracts also supplied the tiles and bathroom ware for the first ten rooms, and will supply a further ten rooms in the second phase of the project.
As the Orion Safari Lodge is primarily a conference hotel experiencing a large volume of visitors, one of the specific requirements for the tiles was that they should be robust. Tile Africa Contracts has used bigger format tiles for the installation and the main floor has been upgraded with polished porcelain tiles to provide a clean and sophisticated finish.
"Porcelain tiles are still very popular in South Africa, particularly for creating a high gloss finish on floors and walls," says Vaughn Dyssel, national corporate key accounts consultant for Tile Africa.
"In this project, we created a contemporary minimalist look using soft earthy tones of beige, greys and browns combined with stainless steel. In the bedrooms, we opted for neutral colours, blending with the bushveld surroundings," says Dyssel.
