Alcatraz Integrated Intelligent Systems (Pty) Ltd has been developed and constructed to comply with the unique conditions prevailing in the South African market and the regulations governing the use of electricity, as an intelligent perimeter defence system.

The Alcatraz range of Power-Barriers is available in stainless steel, galvanised steel or mild steel.

Advantages of stainless steel
Apart from the obvious improved lifetime of stainless steel fencing products, the following advantages over galvanized steel products also apply:

• NO RUST deterioration of the corrosion resistance of the fence due to "sand blasting". The rust resistance of stainless steel is continuous through the thickness of the material and is not only an outer protective layer, as with galvanised steel.
• Stainless steels are 30% STRONGER than mild steel of similar section thickness.
• Aesthetically MORE PLEASING AND ATTRACTIVE as a perimeter border than galvanised steel.

Electrified Power-Barriers:
The Alcatraz Power-Barrier Dual Fence synchronised Energizer system consists of two sections, usually a 600mm top section and an 1800mm bottom section, separated by a 50mm gap. The top section is charged with a 10,000 Volt, non-lethal pulse at 1-second intervals.

In Industrial or rural areas options may vary from residential; typically one may choose that the entire fence remains live. Alternatively, the top of the fence can be permanently live while the bottom of the fence is on a special day / night timer. This provides an additional option whereby the bottom fence may be passive from 6.00 am during the day, and change its status from 6.00 pm at night via a Dual-Pulsed synchronised Energizer and have the entire fence (top & bottom) live.
