Every now and then a product crosses my desk which catches my eye immediately. The ITATIAIA steel and wood kitchen units fit into that category. Imported from Brazil by Interglobal Products, these units offer so much: flexibility, attractive design, individuality and colour. Harry Mirels of Interglobal Products explains that this is due to the fact that they are shipped from Brazil in flat pack form, thereby saving enormously on transport costs. He also believes that the quality and range of models is far better than most South African made kitchen units.

The Stilo kitchen featured here boasts a modern, spacious and organisational design. It incorporates a wine rack and storage unit, overhead cabinets with safety glass doors in cherry, black and translucent colours, and drawers fitted with modern steel handles for style beauty and quality. More features include a modern folding door wall cabinet with gas spring, wide drawers with telescopic runners, steel bottom and cutlery organiser, grocery and base cabinets with 3 oversized drawers, and deep pot and pan cabinets. Countertops are in high gloss black granite Formica for beauty and functionality, with a high temperature resistance of 120 degrees.

While some of the ranges feature steel bottoms, many of the kitchen units incorporate modern adjustable legs with levelers - both attractive and practical from a cleaning point of view. The Itatiaia units are supplied with fixing screws for simple fixing to the walls.

Certain ranges include the option of coloured drawers allowing you to add some individuality to your kitchen design by selecting, for instance, green drawers with a white unit.

Alternatively, go and see the range for yourself at Interglobal's showroom where a variety of models are on display and where you are able to view their outstanding features.

Kitchen units are available on order with a lead time of 6 to 8 weeks. Once they arrive in South Africa, Interglobal Products will assemble them and arrange delivery to site. Initially, architects, developers, contractors and customers will be able to choose any model and colour from the catalogues or from the showroom and Interglobal Products will arrange import thereof. However, the intention is to hold stock once the range is well established.
