Mosaic carpets

While not really mosaic carpets, Yanuchi Rugs share the design flexibility and colour combinations that mosaic tiles offer. Certainly, the method of creating and completing the Yanuchi shaggy rug brings to mind mosaic art and the assembly process conveys the same unique sense of achievement.

This new generation of designer carpet tiles enables a wide variety of shapes, colour combinations and designs. Be creative by increasing, or decreasing or re-designing your rug in any number of shapes and colours. Any size or shape is possible.

Comprising 40cm x 40cm carpet tiles, in a myriad of colours, the Yanuchi Shaggy Carpet Tiles are connected simply, securely and speedily with Velcro technology.

Individual carpet tiles can be easily replaced. Regardless of the size, the carpet can also be easily transported.

Yanuchi Shaggy Carpet Tiles are available in cream, chocolate, silver, grey, blue, lime, orchid, aubergine, red, white and black.

How to create a Yanuchi Shaggy Carpet

• Place the tiles according to the design you wish to create.
• Once the design has been finalised, turn the tiles upside down with the black Velcro backing facing upwards.
• Remove the Velcro backing from each tile and put aside.
• Ensure that the printed arrows on the backs of the carpet tiles face the same direction..
• Line up the joint between each tile.
• Place the Velcro backing centre with the adjoining tiles using the guiding marks on the back so that the Velcro is positioned evenly on all four tiles.
• Cut excess Velcro strips down the centre, ensuring always that the Velcro joins a minimum of 2 tiles.
• The Velcro backing should never be applied double.
• Continue in this manner until all the carpet tiles are joined, forming one carpet.
• Flip over the connected carpet tiles and your new rug is ready!
