The case for artificial lawn

There are many reasons for selecting artificial lawn or turf as opposed to real grass. There are those who would say that using ‘lawn carpets’ is unnatural and that nothing can replace a real lawn.

However, real lawn requires extensive and continued maintenance, good preparation of the soil, chemicals or dressing to keep it in optimal condition, water (in a country where water is in short supply) and constant repair when utilised in sport intensive environments.

We’re not pushing the case for artificial turf as an environmentally friendly solution (though you could argue that it is) but rather that lawn that requires no mowing, no weeding, and no watering makes life so much easier. Those of us that have struggled with growing lawn in shady areas or maintaining lawn that is subject to a lot of foot traffic will also appreciate the advantages of artificial turf. And, while nothing beats the smell of freshly mown grass, sometimes practicality must reign.

The Tiger Turf Landscape selection of artificial lawn covers a multitude of applications. From gardens to terraces to golf greens and sports facilities – there is a turf type available to suit them all. And before you start visualising bright green plastic looking lawn – let me assure you that this is no longer the case.
