Registration and access to the Specifile on-line website is free. However, Specifile offers a variety of product formats to suit every need. The range includes:
SPECXpert Building Industry Reference Source–This DVD/USB set is issued annually and updated upon request. SPECXpert contains over 19 000 datasheets and brochures on building products, CAD drawings, product summary pages, trade names and building products. SPECXpert provides the most extensive storage medium based range of building product information in South Africa.
Specifile Building Library – The Specifile Building Library was launched in 1959 and remains popular amongst building industry professionals, such as architects, quantity surveyors and building designers. This 12 volume set of loose-leaf binders is placed in subscribers’ offices and contains technical brochures on building products available in South Africa. The Library is updated by 50 trained field librarians every quarter in all economically active towns. The SPECXpert CD-ROM is issued together with the library should you choose to subscribe to this option.
Archi-Text – An exceptionally comprehensive library, the Archi-Text system of 28 binders contains brochures, datasheets and catalogues of building products. The Archi-Text library is placed in professional practices and is updated by trained and professional staff every second month. Brochures are constantly verified and updated, and the system is popular with interior designers, architects and consulting engineers. Archi-Text is the perfect solution for practices that work together with their clients on product selection.
