and, more importantly, the potential health risks caused by the presence

undesirable, without causing harm to them.

few of us want to cause harm to these birds even though they create an
immense nuisance and disruption to our lives.

Vamoose
bird repellent gel
Manufactured locally from a petrochemical
(Polybutene) base, the product is packed in to 310ml tubes identical to
those in which one buys silicone sealants from the hardware store. It
can be applied to anywhere that birds may roost, and the normal way is
to lay down a bead of +-5mm diameter in a uniform zig-zag pattern, onto
a previously cleaned, dry surface. One then sprays a special sealant
coat over this, which lessens the amount of dust that may be absorbed
into the product.
Spectre-Net bird exclusion
The base material is manufactured from a monofilament polyethylene that
is black in colour. The mesh is constructed with a 10 mm square
aperture, which allows through approximately 95% of natural light. The
colour and construction are the properties that make it exceptionally
suited to this application, in that, from a distance of no more than a
couple of metres, it is virtually transparent.

This unit is a surface mounted,
multi-faceted, pyramid manufactured from a durable reflective
material, equipped with a low-voltage motor that rotates it in a
horizontal plane.
Wire trip

It consists of a series of
self-tensioning parallel stainless wire ropes of 1.5mm diameter
supported on stainless steel posts, 65mm above a surface at 40mm centres.
The tension is introduced by means of specially manufactured stainless
steel springs with a limited extension so that they can never be
overstretched and therefore, providing we do not exceed 3.5 m from post
to post, they will never sag or distort even if walked on by humans.
Repel-a-bird stainless steel bird spike
Manufactured
from a 1-metre long strip of stainless steel that is punched and shaped
to provide malleable spikes. The strip can be powder-coated to a variety
of colours so that it blends acceptably with the background, and it is
manufactured with holes at intervals permitting installation using
nail-in anchors or similar.
Polly - Phonic ultrasonic bird deterrent
This is a stand-alone ultrasonic wave generator that is manufactured
locally and therefore available at a reasonable cost. The unit resembles
an outdoor CCTV camera in appearance and is therefore not particularly
obtrusive. It is powered by a transformed domestic supply, with the
transformer being part of the kit provided, and can be linked to an
additional speaker to cover larger areas.
