Xypex is a non-toxic chemical treatment for the waterproofing and protection of concrete offering major advantages over other available systems. It generates non-soluble crystalline formation deep within pores and capillary tracts that permanently seals the concrete mass against the penetration of water and other liquids from any direction, even under extreme hydrostatic pressure (positive or negative).

Typical Xypex applications include reservoirs, sewage and water treatment tanks, basements, roofs, parking decks, underground vaults, bridges, dams and seawalls. 

How does it work?
Xypex is a chemical waterproofing that delivers permanent crystalline protection to pores, capillaries and cracks (up to 0,4mm wide). The proprietary chemicals use water as a migrating medium to enter and travel through the capillary tracks in concrete. This process precipitates a chemical reaction between Xypex, moisture and the natural chemical by-products of cement hydration.

The result is crystallization and, ultimately, a non-soluble crystalline structure that becomes an integral part of the concrete mix. When applied to existing concrete, the Xypex crystal will normally penetrate 50mm within the first 30 days and 300mm within 12 months. The crystalline process will reactivate whenever water is present, and will remain effective for the life of the concrete.
