Afscan is the sole agent for Purus products in southern Africa. These unique and upmarket products are worldwide patented.

PURUS floor gullies and full bore
All PURUS floor gullies are type-approved by SITAC. Purus is the first CE approved floor drain solution.
The unique solution of the NOOD water trap has been approved as a norm by all EU countries. A floor drain solution using NOOD in combination with drains in the Purus system is the first plumbing product and the third product in all categories to achieve the status provided by a CE approval.
Once a CE approval has been given, it is valid in all EU countries within the framework stated in national building regulations.

All Purus floor drains have been designed to meet the exact requirements for design, functionality and safety to comply with the British Board of Agrément standards. Purus was awarded with a BBA in May 2009, the certificate recognised throughout the UK by architects ,engineers and building control personnel. This complements manufacturers' own technical data with BBA`s impartial information on the performance of the product. The BBA certificate confirms that Purus wet room gullies comply with all UK building regulations for wet room and shower areas.

Cast-iron gullies and full bore
All PURUS floor gullies, trapped or non-trapped, are made of cast-iron, and coated on the inside and outside with epoxy plastic. Epoxy offers excellent adhesion to other materials and good resistance to solvents and bases. These properties make epoxy one of the best corrosion protectors for cast-iron floor gullies. A number of the cast iron gullies can be fitted with the NOOD trap.

miniMAX shower outlet
The miniMAX shower outlet is only 70mm in height and the worlds most shallow shower trap. The shower outlet has a spring loaded trap and the miniMAX will fit all slabs. It is a removable water trap with odour stop and back flow prevention, named NOOD.

Plastic gullies and full bore
Polypropylene plastic (PP). The plastic’s excellent impact, chemical and temperature resistance means that the floor gullies have a very long lifetime. When polypropylene burns, only carbon dioxide and water forms. Most Purus floor gullies are made of polypropylene.

Polyethylene (PEH). This plastic is not used as often for floor gullies due to its high mould-shrinkage and linear heat expansion coefficient. The material is also difficult to glue.

ABS plastic. This plastic contains rubber particles that produce high impact resistance, surface hardness and a first-rate surface finish. The material has extremely good low temperature properties. A number of plastic floor gullies are available.

PURUS corner:
An exciting variant in the Afscan family is Purus Corner, a triangular floor drain that further enhances the opportunity for exciting solutions. The Purus Corner has a removable spring loaded trap to stop odour and back flow prevention, named NOOD.

PURUS line:
One of the smartest drain / floor channels on the market with bottom or side outlet in 50mm or 75mm.  It is available in 6 lengths and 8 patterns ensuring thousands of different possibilities.  The Purus line has a removable spring loaded trap to stop odour and back flow prevention, named NOOD.

PURUS NOOD water trap
The NOOD water trap effectively stops back flows, gas leaks, foul air and harmful insects and vermin. It functions independently of water in the water trap.

PURUS tile frames and gratings, PK - rings or design tile frames are made of highest quality stainless steel.
PURUS PK-ring rings can be used for all types of sealing layer and brick floors. It is also suitable for most available full bores on the market.  Purus tile gratings are available in a standard or design pattern. The design grids can also be customised, with, for example, a company logo. Load on grating to load classification EN 1253:K3 = 3 kN, apart from the two with reinforced gratings (PK 200 and PK 300), load classification EN 1253:L15 = 15 kN. All PURUS PK rings are available with a hole in the grating: grating dim. 150 with Ø40 mm hole, grating dim. Ø220 with Ø50mm hole. The height of the PK ring above the gully's flange depends on weather a plate flange or membrane flange is used.

PURUS stainless steel products
All PURUS stainless steel floor gullies and accessories are manufactured from acid-resistant stainless steel. The exception is the industrial floor gully.

The Purus Channel is a hygienic channel made of AISI 316 acid-resistant stainless steel, with electro-polished grid of stainless steel. As an alternative, the channel can be delivered with an anti-slip plastic lattice. As water trap, an optional Purus floor gully of stainless steel, with vertical or horizontal outlet, outlet-dim. 50, 75 or 110 mm is available. The gully is mounted at the bottom of the tub. The gully can be equipped with odour-stop and back flow valve. Removable grating/sediment basket is included. The gully can be turned through 360° and can be adjusted before installation. The Purus Standard Channel is available for all types of floors: concrete/plasterfloor, vinyl floor or brick floor.

PURUS system
The PURUS system means that whatever type of floor gully you choose, a number of different insets will fit in all gullies marked with S. Also available is a PURUS cover used to 'plug' the gully against possible drying out and back flows. PURUS Foam Stop for tight connections such as between the washing machine and floor gully; and PURUS NOOD "Universal water trap" - which combines the properties of all the other insets, such as automatic back flow stop and odour-stop in the event of drying out.

PURUS rubber reducer / combination reducer
This reducer has an elastic seal at the transition from one dimension to another. The only rubber/combination - reducer range on the market that is approved for horizontal and vertical installation. They are also approved for internal use. Type approved by SITAC and world patented.
