Security barriers

Trellidor manufactures custom-made physical security barriers for both the domestic and commercial arenas. Our wide range of products can be designed to fit doors, windows, passages, patios, storage areas, stairways, parking garages, despatch hatches and counter closures.  An individually tailored security solution may require a selection of units from different ranges, all of which work together to help guard against criminal intent whatever the risk profile of the building. All products are manufactured at our ISO audited factory, are SABS approved and carry warranties in terms of quality and corrosion resistance.

Trellidor Clear Guard

These barriers consist of a full aluminium frame with an industrial grade woven stainless steel mesh insert. The mesh allows clear views of the external environment while providing protection. They facilitate free air flow, assist with internal climate control and contribute to the improved energy efficiency of a building.  This product has passed a number of critical internationally recognised tests, including tests for strength under attack, corrosion and UV resistance.  They’re also an effective barrier against insects, primates and snakes.  There is a wide choice of product models for both doors and windows.

Trellidor Rollerstyle

These aluminium roller shutters offer protection, provide excellent insulation and noise reduction, and can be used to close up premises completely if fitted to all apertures. If incorporated into the design of a new build, the shutter box can be recessed into the wall but is still accessible for maintenance. If retro-fitted, the shutters roll up into a neat, compact shutter box.  There is a choice of slat for the curtain including solid, vented and punched slats in single or double walled formats. A grille-type slat is available for commercial use.  Automated shutters are powered by Somfy motors.  The system is wireless, using a unique radio frequency with a manual override in case of power failure.  Sensors can be installed to facilitate automatic opening/closing of shutters.  There are a number of remote control options.

Trellidor Retractable Security

Trellidor’s retractable security range consists of powder coated galvanised steel barriers in a double trellis design for doors, windows and other apertures.  Within this range are four products that look similar but are engineered to resist different levels of attack, from low to extremely high risk.  Units are fully framed to enhance their strength, have a neat, compact sash, and links cross over and connect 3 upright bars for increased strength and smoother operation. The steel components are roll-formed into u-channel profiles with reinforced edges rolled back 180°, which improves corrosion resistance as we’re able to coat all surfaces.  There is a choice of Trellidor’s patented locking systems, including dead-lock and slam-lock technology, and a number of specialised options to comply with health and safety regulations.

Trellidor Fixed Security

These are Trellidor’s non-retractable security barriers designed to help protect windows of any type, open balconies, glassed walls and glassed-in stairways amongst others.  The range includes fully framed trellis-style barriers manufactured from galvanised steel and semi-framed Trellidor Burglar Guard made from powder coated electro-galvanised steel in three different designs.  Units can match Trellidor Retractable Security in design. Most models can be manufactured to fit almost any sized opening, from large to very small, and can be fitted internally or externally, face-on or in the reveal depending on the design.  They differ in the way they are strengthened to resist attack. The choice of product will depend on the level of security risk of their installation location.

Trellidor Cottage Guard

This is a premium quality, fully framed burglar guard that is suitable for any window style. Manufactured from a combination of aluminium square tubing with reinforced steel bar through the centre for increased resistance to attack, no welding is required, and units are bolted into the substrate of the window with coach screws.  Apertures are custom measured and units made to either match existing cottage pane windows or create a cottage pane effect. Although flexible to a degree in terms of size, the openings must comply with the maximum allowed by insurance companies.
