Africa Thermal Insulations (Pty) Ltd (ATI), was formed in 2005
specifically to act as the Sales and Marketing Division for Khanyisa
Africa Development Company (Pty) Ltd (Khanyisa). In addition to products
manufactured by Khanyisa, ATI also supply other insulation types to
enable them to offer their customers a full range of options to meet
their specific building insulation requirements. ATI is based in
Pretoria with branch offices in Johannesburg and in Cape Town and an
authorised Distributors in Durban. ATI’s ability to supply a
comprehensive range of insulation to all parts of the country at
affordable prices has proved to be and remains the essence of their
success.
The development of
new products to increase the range available to ATI customers is ongoing
and in line with the requirements for ensuring energy efficiency in the
buildings.
Khanyisa is focussed at all times towards producing and promoting the
best use of reflective aluminium foil insulation products as stand alone
offerings as well as incorporation with bulk insulation products, all
the while working within the framework of the South African Standards
and other areas of public policy developments.
Quality Products
The Alububble®
business was purchased by Khanyisa from Kohler Flexpak in 2003.
Alububble® was first introduced into South Africa in 1986 and has been
locally produced since inception. Alububble® remains the de facto
standard for reflective foil, bubble insulation products in South
Africa.
Alububble® consists
of a low density polyethylene (LDPE) bubble sandwiched between
aluminium foil and a coloured LDPE layer, which combines pleasing
aesthetics with reflective foil technology. The product is extremely
efficient in controlling Radiant Heat, and is the benchmark for all
Radiant Barriers in South Africa. The product has been used in mainly
Industrial applications however, its effectiveness in controlling heat
gain through the building envelope has created opportunities for use in
roof, ceiling, walls and floor applications.
Alutherm®, a foil
faced bulk insulation with a bubble underside was introduced to the
product range in 2008. This winning product deals with both radiant and
conductive heat elements and can be used in Industrial, Commercial, and
Domestic applications. Alutherm® offers a number of derivatives to cater
for various insulation specifications.
Alububble® and
Alutherm® are manufactured under the stringent requirements of the ISO
9001: 2000 Quality Management System.
