Established in 1990, Turnstar is the largest manufacturer of turnstiles and vehicle barriers in the Southern Hemisphere, producing over 200 turnstiles and vehicle barriers a month.

Turnstar's customers range from the world’s top mining companies to single-site retailers and the company is the largest supplier of turnstiles to the African mining industry.

The Triumph 4 full height turnstile is the biggest-selling turnstile in Africa.

In 2003, Turnstar supplied all 142 of the Trident turnstiles for the ICC Cricket World Cup. With a zero failure rate these turnstiles handled almost 700 000 spectators during the World Cup.

Turnstar also supplied all 144 full height turnstiles installed at four stadiums around Ghana for the CAF Africa Cup of Nations 2008. Over 968 turnstiles were manufactured and installed by Turnstar for various FIFA World Cup stadiums around South Africa. Eight major stadiums, fifteen training stadiums and various fan parks were fitted with Turnstar turnstiles. Over 3 million transactions were recorded during the World Cup.
