Solar water heaters and photovoltaic
panels
Alt-e Technologies was formed in December 2006 to focus on the
importation, distribution, and sales of renewable energy products in
Southern Africa . The company complies with the South African
Government's Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) code of conduct and has a
55% black shareholding.
The South African
Government has an aggressive target of producing 15% of its energy needs
from renewable sources (or some 10 000 MW) by 2013, and Alt-e intends to
benefit from being at the forefront of any renewable energy capacity
installation in Southern Africa . The company currently employs 5
engineers who keep abreast of technology improvements in the field and
focuses on finding and implementing financially viable renewable energy
solutions for clients. We have representation across South Africa
(Western Cape, Kwazulu-Natal, Eastern Cape, Gauteng) and Zimbabwe.
Photovoltaic panels
Photovoltaic panels
are provided in any sizes from 5W to 200W and are sourced from a number
of recognized international suppliers, including the premium SANYO HIT,
Solarworld mono/poly and Tenasol thin-film panels.
Alt-e also has
relationships with major producers of BIPV solutions and can provide PV
glazing solutions whereby PV cells are built into awnings, roofs, or in
a thin film version are built into glass for windows.
Solar Water heaters
Alt-e stocks and
distributes a range of local and international solar hot water heaters,
including many that qualify for an ESKOM incentive (discount). Products
include the Greenheat,
Jacques Giordano,
Giosol and
Kwiksol range of flat-plate
solar water heaters.
Greenheat
range of solar water heaters
The Alt-e Greenheat range of solar water
heaters are designed to produce low cost solar powered hot water that is
also environmentally friendly. The systems come in a range of sizes
(150L, 200L and 250L) and can be installed on flat or pitched roofs,
with the geyser either on the roof or in the roof.
The standard range brings together highly
efficient imported solar collectors with a very effective locally
manufactured double walled mild steel geyser. In certain circumstances
where the water quality is expected to be poor or corrosive, the
standard geyser should be changed for a geyser made of a Polyvinyl
composite which is corrosion resistant.
