Atlantic Solar (Pty) Ltd, based just outside of Cape Town, South
Africa, have been at the forefront in the design and manufacture of
high quality, durable, effective and affordable solar water heating
systems since 1985. We take pride in our contribution to promoting the
use of sustainable and renewable energy, through our service to
hundreds of satisfied clients spanning twenty years.
Atlantic
Solar manufactures, sells, distributes and installs a range of
purpose-designed solar water heaters, catering for a variety of
applications and conditions.
The range
of standard heater sets, for residential applications, is combined with
high quality geysers and sold as complete units. Standalone panels,
stands and accessories for the DIY and plumbers' market, are also
provided. For the industrial market custom size panels can be built to
cater for each need. A low cost all plastic unit, which is suitable for
fish farms and applications that are sensitive to copper poisoning, is
also available. Additionally, several economy units, which are suitable
for other applications such as bush camps and low cost housing units,
are offered.
There has
been a lot of scepticism about the application and use of solar water
heating but the business case for using solar is well proven. Water
heating is one of the largest energy expenses in a home. A typical solar
water heater pays for itself in less than a third of its expected
lifetime of about 15 years; thereafter it is money in your pocket. The
cost of a solar system included in a new 20 year bond is less than R 100
p.m. Any energy savings more than R 100 per month, makes this investment
in a solar water heater profitable immediately. Not only is a
well-maintained solar water heater a money saving asset to your or your
client’s new home, but, as an architect or builder you also make a
desperately needed contribution to the future sustainability of our
economy and environment.
