Protective coatings

Since 1973 Cemcrete has developed a range of cement-based products that can truly claim to be the best that Africa has to offer. Our products create finishes that reflect the unique look of Africa without conflicting with the environment. We believe that a finish should mature over time and take on a life of its own - mottling and growing into a natural-looking work of art.

Adhesives and grouts
Base Coat Adhesive - A special mixture of adhesives, fillers and plasticisers for mixing with ordinary Portland Cement to obtain a controlled mixture for repair of concrete and masonry, attaching and subsequent surfacing of polystyrene insulation boards prior to painting or finishing.
Flexigrip - A paste tile adhesive. For dry interior surfaces only.
Tile Adhesive - a cement-based top quality wall and floor tile adhesive for fixing tiles, mosaics, etc. Supplied in powder form for mixing with water. For interior and exterior use.
Tile grout - A cement-based, coloured, waterproof tile grout. Plastic, cohesive and easy to apply. Supplied in powder form. For interior use only.

Admixtures
CemBond - A general adhesive, cement additive and plaster keying aid. A general purpose liquid for bonding and fixing of or on concrete, brick, ceramic tiles, cement plaster, stone, timber, firm oil paint, etc. CemBond obviates chipping, is non-flammable and has been proven over the past 36 years to be a safe, dependable adhesive for the building industry.
Flexbond - A non-toxic latex-based liquid admixture for Portland Cement plasters, screeds or concrete. Flexbond replaces some or all of the water in cement mixes to improve bond waterproofing, flexural, tensile and abrasive strengths, adhesion, thin film hardness, weak acid resistance, adhesion to asphalt and drying shrinkage. Can also be used to waterproof water containing structures.

Colourants
ColourCem - A blend of white cement and coloured pigments that produces coloured concrete, plaster or mortar.
Cretestain - An acid-based mixture containing special chemicals which react with the lime in cement or concrete to permanently colour the surface. For interior or exterior use.

Crack Fillers
Exterior Crack Filler - A tough, thermoplastic acrylic-based crack filler supplied ready to use in paste form.
Interior Crack Filler - An easy to use cellulose crack filler. Supplied in powder form for mixing with water.

Floor Products
Colour Hardener - A granolithic material, floated into wet concrete that strengthens and colours concrete floors. Floors can be smooth or imprinted in conjunction with Coloured Release Agent. For interior or exterior use.
Coloured Release Agent - A coloured, cement-based powder release agent to be used in conjunction with texture imprint mats. Adds colour to the surface of the material being imprinted while also ensuring that the mould releases cleanly from the substrate.
FloorCrete - A coloured, cement-based self-levelling floor covering for application onto rolled or wood-floated concrete screeds. Produces a 2-3mm layer that does not crack and is unaffected by rising damp. For interior use only. 
Floor Levelling Compound - Provides a smooth surface to floor screeds to take tiles, parquet, carpets, linoleum, etc. The floor covering can be laid within 4 to 12 hours.
CreteCote - Designed as a micro (1.5 – 2mm) trowel-on cement-based floor topping to provide a coloured, cementitious look to the surface; changing the look of the existing floor, such as old cement or concrete screed, etc.

Membranes
CemForce - An open-textured reinforcing 4mm x 4mm mesh fabric, made of polypropylene strands and fibres. The Cemcrete mixes are specially formulated to form part of the CemForce, similar to fibreglass and resin.
CemLam - A tightly woven polypropylene tape with a 4mm x 4mm mesh fabric made of polypropylene strands and fibres, laminated by hot extrusion to form part of the waterproof substrate. The cement matrix is specially formulated to form part of the CemLam to act like fibreglass and resin.
Glass Fibre Mesh - A treated 4mm x 4mm glass-fibre mesh used exclusively with Base Coat Adhesive onto polystyrene surfaces as part of the Exterior Insulation Finishing System (EIFS). It is alkaline resistant and improves impact resistance and firmness in conjunction with thin skim plasters.
Polyester Membrane - A tightly woven membrane used exclusively in conjunction with the Roofseal system. Not suitable for cement matrices.
Polypropylene Membrane - A geotextile which has a random arrangement of fibres ensuring uniform strength and flexibility in all directions. Its alkali resistant properties enable it to be used in conjunction with Portland cement-based slurries in water-containing structures to seal over cracks and joints. Used in conjunction with Permastop or Flexbond cement slurries for waterproofing reservoirs, etc.

Pool Products
PoolCrete - A scientifically formulated mixture of white cement, white marble and special additives that permanently eliminates the need for painting. Developed in 1969, PoolCrete has been applied to more than 150 000 pools.
BeadCrete - BeadCrete’s main purpose is for the application onto concrete pool shell interiors. It is engineered from silica free pure glass beads, blended aggregates and polymer modified cement technology that produces excellent durability and minimal maintenance of the finished product under normal in-service pool conditions.
Pool Coating - Provides a tough, economical, easy-to-use cement coating over old pitted, dirty marble pool plaster. A twin pack cement-based coating which can be applied easily and quickly with a paintbrush.
Pool Crack Filler - A heavily fibre-reinforced filler for use in marble plaster concrete swimming pools.
Pool Plaster Hardener - A clear spray-applied liquid which is absorbed into the pores of the marble pool plaster and reacts chemically with the calcium salts causing hardening and sealing of the surface.
Pool Mosaics - A comprehensive range of glass pool mosaics available. 
Pool Sealer - An inexpensive sealer for treating pools where seepage is through general porosity or thinness of the plaster. Pool Sealer will not seal plumbing leaks or structural cracks.
Pool Patching (underwater) - A quick-setting compound, having a base of white Portland cement and white marble, specially formulated for the underwater patching of marble pool plaster.

Sealers
Colour Hardener Sealer - A non-yellowing, clear, thermoplastic acrylic lacquer based resin which displays excellent UV and moisture resistance. Has very fast solvent release, i.e. drying properties. The sealer greatly enhances the colour and protects the surface from ingress of dirt and grease. Comes in various forms: Primer; Standard, Slip-Resistant and Heavy-Duty.
Concrete Sealer - A non-yellowing clear polymer emulsion. Provides a tough, durable, flexible, clear coating on vertical surfaces of concrete, cement plaster and masonry. The main properties are UV resistance, non-yellowing, resists becoming brittle; water fast, alkali resistant, water vapour permeable and carbon dioxide tight.
Siliconseal - Solvent Based - A colourless, low viscosity, penetrating liquid for application to masonry or concrete surfaces. It is supplied ready for application by brush, roller or spray. Siliconseal combines the properties of both organic and inorganic silicates like quartz and cures to form durable cross linked resins. Depending on porosity of the surface to be treated, Siliconseal penetrates the pore structure to a depth of about 10mm and alters the masonry/water interfacial tension in this region. Masonry treated in this way can still "breathe" and moisture can dry out through the surface.

Wall Products
Cemcote - A smooth, waterproof cement-based coating, applied by paintbrush, for application onto off-shutter concrete, cement plaster, fairface brickwork, cobbling, etc. For interior or exterior use.
CemWash -  A waterproof, coloured, cement-based product that creates textured, living wall finishes. Applied by block-brush, it can be finished in a number of ways and matures over time to create a beautiful mottled finish. For interior or exterior use.
DecoCrete - A coloured, cement-based product that can be plastered to excessive thickness, does not slide, shrink or crack and dries rock-hard. Provides a cost-effective, coloured, textured shaping system for the artistic creation of rock finishes for use on building and in landscape designs. For interior or exterior use.
SatinCrete - A blend of CemWash and Base Coat Adhesive that is applied by trowel onto wood-floated plastered walls to create a satin finish. Feeling is believing! For interior use only.
StippleCrete - A coloured, waterproof, cement-based, fibre-reinforced, textured finish applied by block-brush onto flush jointed brick or block-work to eliminate painting.
Texturite Roughcast - An extremely durable, coloured, textured, a cement-based coating designed to cover hair cracks and other imperfections in plaster or concrete. Application is by hand operated Tyrol flicking machine. For interior or exterior use.
CemPlaster - A coloured cement finish that is applied by trowel onto wood-float or scratch plaster. The surface can be finished in a variety of ways and cures in a mottled fashion. For interior or exterior use.

Textile Concrete
TexCrete - A cementitious fibre-reinforced, coloured cocktail specifically designed for the manufacture of lightweight textile concrete. Used in conjunction with Flexbond and CemForce. Ideal for casting into moulds. Can be enhanced using Cretestain.

Waterproofing - Water-Repellent Cement
MatCrete - Used in conjunction with Flexbond, CemLam and CemForce for repairing or construction of water-containing structures. for building fish ponds, lining channels, lining soil dams, re-lining pipes and repair of cracked reservoirs.
Permastop - A cement-based mixture containing chemicals which combine with the water in cement and migrate into concrete or cement plaster, thereby effectively waterproofing the structure against hydrostatic pressure. For slurry coatings and plugging holes. Used in conjunction with polypropylene membrane to cover joints and cracks.
Roofseal - A super tough thermoplastic roof coating that contains silica and mica for UV protection. Suitable for clay or cement roof tiles, fibre cement and metal roofs that have been primed with Roofseal Bitumen Primer. Roofseal is excellent for restoring old, patchy tile roofs. Application is by brush or roller.
Roofseal Kit - Supplied in kit form comprising 5 litres Roofseal and 200mm x 10m polyester membrane.
Roofseal Bitumen Primer - A penetrating cold bituminous primer for the treatment of all flat concrete or metal roofs before treating with Roofseal Silver Paint or Roofseal Acrylic. Also suitable for waterproofing the inside of brick or concrete planters, revitalising old malthoid and applying to retaining walls before back-filling.
Roofseal Bitumen Silver Paint - A bright silver protective coating for flat concrete or metal roofs. Especially recommended for protecting Roofseal Bitumen Primer.
Water-repellent Cement - Prevents loss of water from water-containing structures. For use in places of ordinary Portland cement to overcome capillary absorption of moisture into cement mortar, plaster and concrete. For interior or exterior use.

Other Products
Insulating Boiler Plaster - A fibrous insulation plaster with good adhesive properties. Workability enables a smooth, weather-resistant finish which can be painted. Does not contain asbestos or other hazardous materials. Can be sprayed, trowelled or applied by hand. Mainly used for insulating boilers at power stations, etc. Suitable for interior or exterior use.
Mortar Mix - White and Coloured - Produces an attractive, waterproof joint for brick and blockwork.
