Both systems can be used as a Split Systems (Pumped and Thermosyphon Circulation Methods) or as a Close Coupled System (Thermosyphon Circulation Method) and also work as a conventional electric water heater.
The Kwiksol Solar Collector Panel measures 1000mm x 2000mm x 80mm, offering excellent absorption efficiency. The 150lt solar water heater requires one solar collector panel and the 200lt and 250lt capacities two solar collector panels. The glass panel aperture area is 2m².
The Kwiksol Solarfit Conversion Kit Direct and Indirect Systems, has been designed to convert a conventional Kwikot electric water heater to a solar water heater system. The kit consists of a new direct or indirect flange assembly for the electric water heater and a complete solar vacuum tube assembly comprising of an aluminium frame and manifold, 16 glass solar vacuum tubes, a solar circulating pump with a photovoltaic solar panel. The indirect system is also supplied with an expansion tank and a 1litre bottle of Kwiksol Propylene Glycol Solar Heat Transfer Fluid. The water heater will still operate as a conventional electric water heater when there is insufficient solar energy to heat the water.
