Simstone concrete kerbstones are precast in steel moulds to achieve a smooth finish. Shorter lengths for curves are cut with a diamond tip saw blade to specification in the factory. The standard selection of kerbstones complies with SANS 927:2007. An athletic track kerb and a roll over kerb are also available.

Also available in the Simstone civil engineering range is a variety of water channels. These include a heavy duty water channel with concrete grid, a reinforced concrete grid inlet, a reinforced channel with side opening, a water channel with grid and mountable kerb, and a water channel with grid and barrier kerb.

The stormwater catchpit is a strong, reinforced precast concrete modular system. The parts fit together easily and quickly, and can be easily replaced in case of damage. A strong steel angle bearer is incorporated.

Other stormwater solutions include reinforced drop inlets, drop inlet frames, water channels with inlet tops, reinforced beams, water channels with concrete grid inlets, reinforced stormwater chutes and water channels with kerb inlets.

While cover slabs and special products can be manufactured to any specification and size, the standard range of civil utilities consists of cable covers, traffic rumble blocks, concrete slabs, cover slabs, pipe rests, retaining blocks, tree rings, gully tops, rain water shoes, and paving slabs.

Simstone products are manufactured from vibrated precast concrete for maximum strength and durability. Installed in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations and good practice, products will perform well in excess of the design life of a project. Accredited pressure tests are available on request.
